Young Blues are invited to join us for an unforgettable afternoon of football-themed fun as the Chester FC Junior Summer Bash returns on Thursday 13th August at the King George V Community Sports Hub. Following the fantastic success of last year’s event, which saw lots of young supporters enjoy an afternoon packed with activities, games and the chance to meet the players, this year’s Summer Bash promises to be even bigger and better. Taking place from 2pm until 4pm, the event is open to children aged 4-16 and offers the perfect opportunity for young fans to celebrate the summer holidays alongside fellow Blues supporters. Chester FC and Chester FC Communuty Trust are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Ball Crew Coordinator to oversee the club’s volunteer ball crew on first-team matchdays. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for football who wants to play an important role in ensuring National League fixtures run smoothly while helping to develop and support our young ball assistants. Working alongside the club’s matchday operatins team, the Ball Crew Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, organising and supervising the ball crew, ensuring they carry out their duties professionally and in line with National League regulations. About the Role The Ball Crew Coordinator will attend Chester FC first-team home fixtures at the Deva Stadium and be responsible for managing the volunteer ball crew before, during and after each match. The successful volunteer will ensure that footballs are retrieved promptly whenever they leave the field of play and that the National League multi-ball system is maintained throughout the game, ensuring replacement balls are always available to players to keep play flowing efficiently. Away from matchdays, the role will include recruiting new ball assistants, organising matchday rotas, communicating with volunteers and parents or carers, and helping to create a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. The coordinator will also organise refreshments for the ball crew during half-time and provide ongoing guidance and support to ensure all volunteers understand their responsibilities. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate the ball crew at all Chester FC first-team home fixtures. • Ensure ball assistants carry out their duties safely, professionally and effectively. • Maintain the National League multi-ball system throughout each fixture. • Ensure footballs are returned into play promptly to minimise delays. • Recruit new volunteer ball assistants throughout the season. • Prepare and manage matchday rotas. • Brief volunteers before matches and provide ongoing support and feedback. • Organise half-time refreshments for the ball crew. • Liaise with club staff regarding any matchday operational requirements. • Help provide a safe, enjoyable and rewarding volunteering experience. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: • Be enthusiastic, organised and reliable. • Have excellent communication and organisational skills. • Enjoy working with young people and volunteers. • Have an interest in football and the matchday environment. • Be able to work independently and as part of a team. • Be available for Chester FC first-team home fixtures throughout the season. Previous experience of volunteering, coaching or working with children or young people would be beneficial but is not essential. Training and Support The successful volunteer will receive: • Full induction and ongoing training. • Chester FC uniform. • Support from the club’s matchday operations team. • The opportunity to play an important role on matchdays and contribute to the success of Chester FC. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team at one of Chester’s leading community sports facilities. Working under the direction of the Head of Programmes, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the Sports Hub operates safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standards, providing an outstanding experience for customers, partners and the local community. The Duty Manager will oversee the operation of the site during allocated shifts, supervising staff, maintaining high standards of health and safety, supporting facility bookings and ensuring the smooth delivery of football, community and commercial activities. Chester FC Community Trust is inviting young footballers to take part in a free football camp in memory of Matthew Hazeldine, a hugely respected figure within grassroots football across Chester and North Wales, who sadly passed away unexpectedly this month at the age of 47. Matthew dedicated much of his life to football and was a familiar face to countless players, coaches and families across the local game. His sudden passing has left his wife and four children facing an incredibly difficult time. As a charity committed to supporting our community through the power of football, Chester FC Community Trust is proud to host this special event in Matthew’s memory. While the camp is completely free to attend, parents and carers are invited to consider making a donation to support Matthew’s family with funeral expenses and ongoing financial support during this challenging period. Chester FC Community Trust’s Healthy Holidays multi-sport camps return for the summer! Supported by our principal partner MBNA, these free holiday camps encourage children to be active and make healthy choices. Healthy Holidays camps are held at King George V Community Sports Hub and give youngsters aged 5-11 the chance to take part in multi-sport coaching and games – including football, rounders, dodgeball, and more – with a healthy breakfast and lunch provided. Starting at 9am and finishing at 2pm, our Summer Healthy Holidays camps will take place on Wednesdays during August. Blacon Youth Hub is hosting a Summer Party to celebrate another amazing year for our Friday night youth club! We are inviting all of our Youth Hub members to join us from 6pm to 8pm on Friday 17th July for a evening packed with fun games and activities, inflatables, party food, ice cream and much more. The party will celebrate the second anniversary of the Youth Hub too. Since opening in July 2024, the Youth Hub has provided more than 320 hours of youth work for children and young people in Blacon. The Youth Hub team of Liz, Alex and Connor put a huge amount of work into providing a safe, fun and inclusive space where young people can take part in activities, meet up with their mates and make new friends. Chester FC Community Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Football Education Coach to join our Football & Education programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality coaching sessions, leading matchday activity, and supporting the holistic development of student-athletes participating in our Football Education Programme. The Football Education Coach will help create a positive, professional and player-centred environment where students can thrive both on and off the pitch. This is a part-time permanent position for 10 hours per week, with the successful applicant required to work: • Monday afternoon • Tuesday afternoon • Wednesday (Matchday) • Friday afternoon The ideal candidate will hold a minimum UEFA C Licence (or equivalent), together with current FA Safeguarding and Emergency First Aid qualifications. Experience coaching players aged 16-19 within an education or academy environment is desirable, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. A competitive hourly rate, dependent on qualifications and experience, will be offered. We also provide club kit, opportunities for continued professional development (CPD), and the chance to play a key role within an ambitious Football Education programme. Appointment will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Football Education Coach Responsibilities • Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality football coaching sessions that align with the programme’s playing philosophy. • Lead the team on weekly matchdays, including pre-match preparation, in-game coaching and post-match review. • Support the development of individual players through regular feedback and Individual Development Plans (IDPs). • Work collaboratively with education staff to promote high standards of attendance, behaviour and academic achievement. • Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their potential. • Maintain accurate records including session plans, attendance, player reviews and match reports. • Monitor player wellbeing and contribute to the pastoral support of students where appropriate. • Support player recruitment activities including trials, open events and talent identification. • Represent the organisation in a professional manner at fixtures, tournaments and external events. • Ensure all coaching activities comply with FA safeguarding, equality, health & safety and club policies. • Engage in CPD opportunities to continually develop coaching practice and contribute to the ongoing development of the Football Education programme.
