  • Blacon Youth Hub has teamed up with the Mini Makery for Craft It Off – the ultimate workshop for our members who love Taylor Swift fans and crafting! The event promises an unforgettable afternoon that will celebrate the eras, lyrics, and iconic style of Taylor Swift through hands-on creativity and fun. The workshop is open to ages 7-17 and will run from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday 26th April at King George V Community Sports Hub. Spaces are limited and there is a small charge of £5 to attend the workshop. Chester FC Community Trust has worked with Mini Makery on many occasions, and their events are always fun, entertaining and a great way to spark children’s creativity.   • House of Dance hosted an amazing dance party for Blacon Youth Hub members at King George V Community Sports Hub! The event gave participants the opportunity to take part in a dance workshop with a professional dance coach, helping them create their own routine while learning new skills and building confidence. Thanks to House of Dance for leading such a fun afternoon for the young people from Blacon Youth Hub. Based in Chester, House of Dance offer dance, performing arts, theatre, and singing classes for children, young people and adults of all levels, ages and abilities.   • Bookings are now open for our Easter Chester FC Soccer School! Our popular camps are led by qualified, experienced coaches and support youngsters to keep active, develop their skills and make new friends during the school holidays. The Chester FC Soccer School will be running across the Easter holidays Goals Soccer Centre, offering skills coaching, small-sided games, tournaments and challenges for children aged 5-15. Our camps start at 10am and finish 3pm with places costing £15 per day. Spaces for each day are limited and early booking is encouraged. If for any reason an event is unable to go ahead or you cannot attend, you will receive a full refund. Children are requested to arrive ready to play in kit and bring appropriate footwear, waterproof jacket, a drink and a packed lunch in a labelled bag or lunchbox.   • Chester FC Community Trust is hosting two Healthy Holidays camps during the Easter break. These free multi-sport camps this summer aim to encourage children to be active and make healthy choices, and are being delivered with support from our principal partner MBNA. Healthy Holidays camps are held at King George V Community Sports Hub and give youngsters aged 5-11 the chance to take part in multi-sport coaching and games – including football, rounders, dodgeball, and more – with a healthy breakfast and lunch provided. There are two camps, each starting at 9am and finishing at 2pm, on the following dates: Wednesday 9th April Monday 14th April The camps are free to attend for all children, howevers spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.   • Junior supporters are invited to join us for a special Chester FC Easter Party at the Deva Stadium! With the help of our friends at DJ Jay Parties, we have planned an egg-citing afternoon of fun and games, including a Wonderland-themed Disco with the Mad Hatter, Alice and White Rabbit. First team squad members will be in attendance, with plenty of time for photo opportunities. The event will also feature an egg hunt, glitter bar, balloon modelling, popcorn, candy floss, and the chance to take part in football activities with Community Trust coaches on the pitch. The party will take place on Thursday 17th April from 1pm until 3pm and we are looking forward to another fantastic event following the success of our Christmas Party at Tenpin.   • A new Walking Netball programme is launching at King George V Community Sports Hub in Blacon, offering friendly and inclusive sessions enabling anyone to play the game, regardless of age or fitness level. Chester FC Community Trust and England Netball are working together to offer these new sessions, which will be held on Tuesdays from 6pm until 7pm, starting from Tuesday 1st April. Open to adults aged 16 or over, there is a charge of £3 per session with all equipment provided. CLICK HERE TO BOOK YOUR PLACE NOW What is Walking Netball? Walking Netball is a relaxed, social version of the sport that is played at a walking pace where the rules are slightly tweaked. Sessions are run by specially trained hosts who run the activities and join in with all the fun and laughter. Who is Walking Netball for? Walking Netball has been designed so that anyone can play, regardless of age or fitness level. From netballers who have previously dropped out of the sport due to injury, to those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers many years ago. Walking Netball can also give those who feel isolated an outlet, provide an activity for people who do not deem themselves fit enough to run anymore, and offer a stepping stone into netball for those who have never played before. Whoever you are, there is a place for you within Walking Netball Benefits of Walking Netball Walking Netball is an amazing community that is full of life and laughter. Physically and mentally, it makes you feel good, and is great for forming connections, and helping you stay active and healthy for longer.   • Upton Heath and Acresfield represented Chester FC in the north west finals of this year’s National League Trust Under 11s Schools Cup, hosted by Marine FC. The annual competition sees all 72 National League clubs host local tournaments, with the winning schools progressing to the regional finals for a place in the national final, which is played at Wembley Stadium. On a fantastic day at Marine Travel Arena, Upton Heath gave an exceptional performance to win the mixed tournament and will now have the chance to test themselves in the next stage. Acresfield also gave a fantastic account of themselves in the girls event, producing an impressive display. Congratulations to both teams for their success in the Chester tournaments and well done on being brilliant ambassadors for your schools and Chester FC.

  • Girls from 12 Chester primary schools joined the Biggest Ever Football Session by enjoying a fun-filled day at Deva Stadium! Chester FC Community Trust teamed up with Chester School Sport Partnership to host an inspiring festival of football for Year 3 & 4 girls as part of the annual event, which is central to The FA’s ambition to give girls’ equal access to football in school. During the day, the girls had the opportunity to develop their football skills through coaching activities and small-sided games, and were also given a behind the scenes stadium tour, including a visit to the team changing rooms. With the sun shining, it was brilliant to see so many girls having fun playing football at the Deva, with the event being supported by Cheshire FA and the Community Trust’s Football Education students. Community Trust coaches have also been visiting Huntington Primary School and St Mary’s of the Angels Primary School to promote girls’ football as part of this year’s Biggest Ever Football Session. Chester FC Community Trust engages with 200 players each week through its women’s and girls’ programmes, which include Weetabix Wildcats, Girls’ Player Development Centre, FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre and Chester FC Women’s teams. The charity also works with schools in Cheshire West and Chester to grow and develop girls’ football through coaching sessions, extra-curricular clubs and inter-school events. Chester School Sport Partnership supports schools to deliver high quality PE and school sport, working with with primary and secondary schools to enhance the quality of sporting opportunities through the curriculum, intra and inter-school competition and developing the young volunteers of the future.

A record-breaking 475,000 girls from 5,000 schools across the country joined last year’s Biggest Ever Football Session. The flagship day is central to The FA’s equal access in school ambition. The Community Trust and SSP have been encouraging schools in Chester to sign up for this year’s event, which will take place on Friday 7th March – the day before International Women’s Day. Year 3 & 4 girls from local primary schools have been invited to a football festival at the Deva Stadium featuring fun coaching activities and small sided games, while Community Trust coaches will also be visiting Huntington Primary School and St Mary’s of the Angels Primary School to lead coaching sessions.   • MBNA will continue to support Chester FC Community Trust after extending its partnership with Chester FC until the end of 2026, marking 16 years of collaboration. Since 2010, MBNA has been Chester FC’s principal partner, providing front-of-shirt sponsorship and supporting the club’s growth both on and off the pitch. Their support goes beyond sponsorship, playing a vital role in expanding community outreach through Chester FC Community Trust, founded in 2013 with backing from the MBNA Community Investment Programme. As a fan-owned club with a strong volunteer ethos, Chester FC has worked closely with MBNA to deliver programmes that promote physical activity, mental wellbeing, and social development for people of all ages. Thanks to MBNA’s investment, the Trust has been able to expand its reach, delivering impactful initiatives such as: • School sports provision with local primary schools across Chester, inspiring young people to stay active. • A thriving women’s and girls’ football programme with two senior teams, an Under-18s squad, and an FA-accredited Girls Emerging Talent Centre. • Key community programmes including mental health and wellbeing football, junior disability football, exercise groups and walking football. • Practical support for young people, including summer provisions for low-income families – providing meals and activities – and a dedicated weekly Youth Club. Together, Chester FC and MBNA have facilitated more than 11,700 community engagement opportunities, and dedicated coaches have delivered more than 975 hours of support to local schools, ensuring young people have access to fun, inclusive, welcoming spaces where they can develop confidence, resilience, and friendships.
