  • Chester FC Community Trust have a vacancy for a Lead Coach for the U14s age group within the Chester FC Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre. The Lead Coach will plan and deliver high quality coaching sessions, working with the Player Development Lead to implement the technical programme for the Girls ETC, and alongside the ETC Manager and coaches to support the holistic development of high performing female players. This is a part-time role for 1.5 hours per week with applicants required to attend the 30-week training programme, running from September until June on Monday evenings from 5.30pm to 7pm. There will also be a games programme during school holidays. Candidates must have an FA Level 2 (UEFA C) in Coaching Football, together with FA first aid and safeguarding certificates, together with experience of coaching female players and a good understanding of the England Women’s Player Pathway. A competitive hourly rate dependent on qualifications and experience is offered, along with additional renumeration of £20 per home fixture and £40 per away fixture. We also offer Chester FC uniform, support with CPD and training, and a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role within a successful club community organisation. Appointment will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and a full UK driving licence would be an advantage. Girls ETC Lead Coach Responsibilities • Create and deliver high quality coaching sessions to girls in the designated age group, to attain the highest levels of performance possible in a safe, secure and supportive environment. • Implement the training and games programmes in line with the Chester FC Girls ETC curriculum. • Monitor player development and provide feedback on player progress through relevant and achievable individual development plans following the completion of player review process. • Carry out administrative duties as required, including but not limited to, attendance registers, risk assessments, evaluation of coaching sessions. • Be responsible for the welfare of players within the designated age group. • Contribute to a positive learning environment where any player is welcome, and development is encouraged via a systemic approach to identify emerging talent. • Work alongside the ETC Manager and Player Development Lead to ensure players are receiving the best experience possible to support each individual develop appropriately across the FA’s four corners. • Ensure effective communication between all departments and stakeholders, including parents, is continuous throughout the season. • Adhere to FA safeguarding and equality policies and procedures, and FA and ETC codes of conduct at all times HOW TO APPLY Please submit a covering letter together with your CV marked for the attention of CEO Jim Green via jim.green@chesterfc.com.   • Booking is now open for our Christmas Chester FC Soccer School taking place during the festive break! Our popular camps are led by qualified, experienced coaches and support youngsters to keep active, develop their skills and make new friends during the school holidays. The Chester FC Soccer School will again be running over two days at Goals Soccer Centre, offering skills coaching, small-sided games, tournaments and challenges for children aged 5-15. Our camps start at 10am and finish 3pm with places costing £15 per day. Spaces for each day are limited and early booking is encouraged. If for any reason an event is unable to go ahead or you cannot attend, you will receive a full refund. Children are requested to arrive ready to play in kit and bring appropriate footwear, waterproof jacket, a drink and a packed lunch in a labelled bag or lunchbox.   • Chester Golf Club will play host to a Chester FC Charity Golf Day on Thursday, 24 April. Bringing together a day of fun, competitive golf, networking opportunities and the chance to share a round with current and former Chester FC representatives, this promises to be an event not to be missed. The day will be raising vital funds for Chester FC Community Trust, the club’s official charity, with all proceeds supporting its work to inspire and improve Cheshire West communities through sport, education, health & wellbeing, and social inclusion. Played over the picturesque parkland course, the event is open to golfers of all levels, with a team competition and individual prizes, including Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin and Beat the Pro, as well as a some special guests as Chester FC players past and present swap their football boots for golf shoes for the day. You can get together with colleagues and friends to enter your own team of four, or enter as an individual and you can join one of our teams on the day. Players will receive a bacon roll and tea or coffee on arrival, on-course refreshments, and a delicious two-course meal, as well as a digital photograph of their team. The day will close with a raffle, auction and presentation 18-hole golf competition. And in playing in this event, you’re not just enjoying a day of golf – you’ll be helping Chester FC Community Trust to continue making a positive impact in local communities.   • Acresfield claimed the trophy as Chester FC Community Trust hosted the National League Trust Under 11s Schools Cup for girls teams, and will now represent Chester FC in the north west finals. Held annually, the competition sees all 72 National League clubs invited to host tournaments, with the winners representing their respective clubs in the regional finals for a place in the national final, which is played at Wembley Stadium. After a rain-soaked competition for mixed teams last week, the weather was much kinder this time around as 15 girls teams played out a fantastic event at King George V Community Sports Hub in Blacon. In a keenly contested final, Acresfeld overcame St Martin’s Academy to finish as overall winners, while Dee Point took home the Plate trophy after defeating The Acorns in the final. Acresfield will now join Upton Heath, who won the mixed event, as the representatives of Chester FC in the north west finals next year. Congratulations to the winning schools and a huge well done to all teams who attended and contributed to another brilliant morning of football, and our thanks once again to the Chester FC Football Education students who helped organise the event and acted as referees.

  • Chester FC Community Trust is very proud to be the away kit sponsor for Saughall Colts Blues Under 7s. The team train at King George V Community Sports Hub where Saughall Colts is a partner club, and a number of the players regularly attend matches at the Deva Stadium. The Community Trust is delighted to have been able to help them look the part and to support Saughall Colts, who are one one of city’s many fantastic community clubs.

  • Chester FC Community Trust hosted its first inter-school competition of 2024/25 as 17 schools contested the National League Trust Under 11s Schools Cup for mixed teams. Each season, clubs across the National League’s three divisions host tournaments with the winning schools going on to represent their respective clubs in regional and national finals. Despite heavy rain throughout, all teams contributed to a brilliant morning of competitive football with Upton Heath coming out on top, overcoming neighbours Acresfield in the final, while in the Plate competition, The Acorns edged out Hoole in the final. Upton Heath will now represent Chester FC in the north west finals next year, where they will be joined by the winners of the girls’ tournament, which will take place next week. Well done to all schools who took part and played with great tenacity and spirit in testing conditions, and our thanks to the Chester FC Football Education students who helped organise the event and acted as referees.

  • The Football Education programme is hosting an open evening on Monday 28th October for Year 10 and Year 11 students interested in studying with Chester FC for 2025/26. Taking place at King George V Community Sports Hub from 6pm, the event offers you the opportunity to learn more about the two-year course and our pathways for elite football or sports coaching and development pathways. The evening will kick-off with a presentation before a training session on our 3G pitch, following which you’ll have the chance to ask questions of our team.   • Chester FC Community Trust are hosting a Halloween-themed Holiday Club during October’s half-term! Children aged 5-12 are invited to join our team across four days from Monday 28th to Thursday 31st October at King George V Community Sports Hub in Blacon, with an array of fun activities and games for everyone to enjoy. You can expect traditional Halloween activities, including pumpkin carving, apple bobbing and candy apple making, with children also having the opportunity to take part in Halloween crafts to help bring their masks and costumes to life, ready for ‘Trick or Treating’. Throughout the week, youngsters will also get the chance to take part in multi-sport and team building activities, enjoy a spooktacular film with popcorn and treats, as well as putting their knowledge to the test our ghostly quiz. Our Halloween-themed Holiday Club will run from 9am to 1pm each day, with a FREE early drop-off available at 8.30am if required. Places are £15 per day and children will need to bring a packed lunch, however we will provide a fab-boo-lous breakfast, including toast, bagels, crumpets and fruit, as well as snacks and refreshments throughout the day. Celebrated every year on 10 October, World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for us all to come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters. The theme for 2024 is workplace mental health, highlighting the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities. Chester FC Community Trust is committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of communities in Chester and Cheshire West, through offering positive activities for children, young people and adults, ranging from mental health football sessions to inclusive exercise groups, and our youth hub in Blacon to wellbeing walks. We also work to highlight and support the vital work of local mental health charities and agencies, including Platform for Life, Chapter, CWP NHS, and Spider Project.
