Held annually, the competition sees all 72 National League clubs invited to host tournaments, with the winners representing their respective clubs in the regional finals for a place in the national final, which is played at Wembley Stadium. Chester FC Community Trust is thrilled to have been announced as one of the finalists for the 2024 Armstrong Projects Northwest Football Awards! Now in its 17th year, the awards bring together the region’s footballing elite to pay tribute to those from both on and off the pitch, who have excelled in the 2023/24 season, with the winners announced on Monday, 25 November at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford, at a Gala Awards’ Ceremony hosted by Eilidh Barbour and Dion Dublin. We are delighted to confirm Chester FC Community Trust has been shortlisted for Community Club of the Season – All Other Leagues, in association with the PFA, which recognises the community scheme that the judging panel believes to be the overall best performer, outside of the Premier League. Laura Wolfe of the NWFA said, “It has been another incredibly impressive year for our football clubs; our north west clubs are truly at the heart of their communities and the standard of work and array of entries submitted in the community categories made the judges’ task of selecting this year’s winners extremely difficult. “We are and always have been committed to supporting the amazing work going on in our football clubs, from grassroots through to Premier League and WSL, and celebrating our footballing heroes, both on and off the pitch, and this year will be no different. “Our hosts again this year are Eilidh Barbour and Dion Dublin; both well-known faces across sports broadcasting, and we are so happy to have them on board again as a key members of the NWFA family.” Chester FC Community Trust is proud to be the official charity and club community organisation for Chester Football Club, working to inspire and improve Cheshire West communities through sport, education, health & wellbeing, and social inclusion. Last year the Community Trust delivered 30 projects and engaged with thousands of people, from toddlers to older adults, working in partnership with a wide range of organisations. “We are really proud of the work our charity does in the city and beyond, and I’m so pleased our brilliant staff have been recognised for their dedication and hard work,” said Jim Green, CEO of Chester FC Community Trust. “For us, as the charity of a National League North club, to be considered alongside Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Preston North End Community & Education Trust, Foundation 92, and Wigan Athletic Community Trust, is fantastic, but Chester FC is a great example of what it means to be a community football club. “The support of all of our partners and funders helps us punch about our weight, particularly MBNA, Westminster Foundation, the National League Trust and Cheshire West & Chester Council, who have made key contributions to our growth and achievements in recent years.” Tickets and tables are now available here for the 2024 Armstrong Projects Northwest Football Awards, which will be supporting the Darby Rimmer Foundation, together with footballer, Joe Thompson, who is battling cancer for the third time.
