July 28, 2022 Jim Green

We are pleased to share details of trial opportunities for the Chester FC Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre for season 2022/23, with prospective players now invited to register their interest.

The FA has awarded Chester FC Community Trust a three-year licence to deliver the ETC programme, which is designed to be a central hub for talented female players from Chester, Ellesmere Port and the surrounding areas.

ETCs are designed to offer a comprehensive approach to player development, with high quality training and games programmes, strength and conditioning, physiotherapist, nutritional advice and health and wellbeing support.

Commencing in September, the Chester FC Girls’ ETC will operate dual age groups at U10s, U12s and U14s, and be based at King George V Community Sports Hub on Monday evenings. The centre will offer:

• 1.5 hours contact time per week
• 30 weeks of training from September to June
• Free training kit
• Centralised 3G venue
• Access to physiotherapist, goalkeeper coach and strength and conditioning
• Games programme
• Players continue to train and play for their grassroots club
• CPD opportunities for grassroots coaches

The Community Trust will be working in partnership with grassroots clubs, schools and coaches to identify players, and enhance girls’ football provision in Cheshire West.

The ETC forms a key part of the Community Trust’s expanded women’s and girls’ pathway, which will also include recreational sessions and aim to develop future players for Chester FC Women’s Under 18s, development and first teams.
