Blues Futures is an innovative employability and coaching apprenticeship programme for adults with SEND and disabilities.

Chester FC Community Trust supports learners to gain practical experience, build workplace skills and work towards a Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship qualification, while earning £110 per week as an apprentice.

Whether your goal is to progress into employment, volunteering, further training or greater independence, Blues Futures is designed to help you take the next step.

Programme Structure

• 10 hours per week
• 4 hours of in-person learning, coaching experience and mentor support
• 6 hours of online and independent learning
• Practical opportunities within Chester FC Community Trust programmes
• Regular one-to-one support and progress reviews

Why Blues Futures

During the three-year programme, learners will be employed by Limitless Mentoring and:

• Earn £110 per week as an apprentice
• Develop their confidence, independence and skills
• Gain practical coaching experience working alongside Community Trust coaches
• Work towards a recognised Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship qualification
• Benefit from dedicated mentor support throughout the programme
• Receive an iPad to access online learning and training kit

Who Can Apply?

Blues Futures is open to individuals who:

• Are aged 18 or over
• Have a disability, learning difficulty, additional need or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
• Are not currently in full-time education
• Have an interest in developing skills, confidence and future employment opportunities in sport
• Are willing to commit to the three-year programme

Learners who are currently employed full-time or part-time can still be eligible for the programme.

Referrals and Expressions of Interest

We welcome expressions of interest and referrals from individuals and families, schools and colleges, SEND departments and transition teams, local authorities, careers advisers, supported employment providers, job coaches, social workers and support services, and community and voluntary organisations.
