Blacon Youth Hub has an update for members after two successful launch sessions.
The feedback from the young people who attended the first two sessions was really positive and it’s clear what they want most is a place where they feel safe, can meet up with friends, and have the option to take part in a range of activities, so this will be our focus moving forwards.
The Youth Hub is a term-time provision, so won’t be running over the summer holidays, however the Youth Hub will be open on Friday 16th August as a one-off.
The weekly sessions will start on Friday 6th September and run every Friday from then on, excluding school holidays.
Times: Juniors 5.30pm-7pm and Seniors 7.30pm-9pm
Address: King George V Community Sports Hub, Blacon Avenue, Blacon CH1 5BD
From now on, the Youth Hub will also be operating open access, which means there’s no need to book places once children and young people have registered as a member. Members are welcome to turn up at the start time each week and join in. Parents and guardians are reminded that seniors will be free to come and go as they wish, but juniors can only leave unattended if a permission form has been completed.
Can an adult attend with a young person? No, for safeguarding reasons, we do allow adults into the Youth Hub, so ask that parents and carers drop young people off and then pick them up later. If you are a parent or carer and want to chat to our team, this will be possible.
Can a young person leave the building? For Juniors, young people need to be collected by a parent or carer when leaving. If you are happy for young person to leave on their own, please chat to a member of our team as we will need your consent. For Seniors, young people are free to leave whenever they like and may come back during the session.
Do I need to be a member? Yes, all young people who wish to attend Blacon Youth Hub are required to become members. It is free to sign up through completing a short online form.
