Boughton Heath Academy and Upton Heath Primary School were crowned champions as Chester FC Community Trust hosted this year’s National League Trust Under 11s Schools Cup.
Held at King George V Community Sports Hub, the competition featured 25 teams and more than 200 youngsters, who enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of football with events for both boys and girls.
The annual event sees each National League club hosting its own tournament with the winners progressing to regional qualifiers for the chance to play in the overall final at Wembley Stadium in May before the National League promotion final.
Chester FC will be represented by Boughton Heath Academy in the boys’ competition and Upton Heath Primary School in the girls’ competition after the two schools overcame strong opposition to claim the trophies, with Boughton defeating Upton Heath in the boys’ final and Upton Heath edging St Martin’s Academy in the girls’ final.
The Community Trust wishes to place on record its thanks to all schools who entered the and contributed to a successful event, and the Chester FC Academy scholars who acted as referees on the day.
