Chester FC’s Women’s Walking Football team continue to make impressive progress, representing the football club with distinction at the inaugural Dragonesses Walking Football Cup.

Hosted by Coedpoeth Dragonesses, the event aims to become an annual fixture in the walking football calendar, with teams competing for the Spirit of the Dragon Trophy.

Chester picked up 11 points from their eight matches on the day and produced a series of excellent performances, underlining the strides the team has made since playing their first competitive matches back in February.

Chester FC Community Trust launched its Women’s Walking Football sessions last summer, and they have proven to be a great success, with many new friendships formed.

Walking football is a fun, social version of the game, played at a slower pace with no running and minimal contact, making it ideal for older players, as well as those who want to return to the game or looking to play for the first time.

Our women’s sessions currently take place on Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm at Goals Soccer Centre and new players of all ages and experience levels are always welcome.
