Chester FC supporters can help those less fortunate this Christmas by donating to West Cheshire Foodbank, starting from this weekend’s FA Trophy fixture.
The Club and Community Trust will be collecting items over the next month to support people in our community who are in crisis with demand for emergency food unfortunately increasing.
Donations can be dropped off at the Deva Stadium before our home games with Lancaster City on 19 November, Blyth Spartans on 3 December and Alfreton Town on 10 December, or at the ticket office between 10am and 4pm on weekdays.
Donated items will then be delivered to West Cheshire Foodbank to help feed local families and individuals in need.
West Cheshire Foodbank has provided the following list of items it needs most this Christmas: UHT milk, UHT juice, treats, instant mash, instant pasta & noodles, tinned meats, and tinned puddings.
The following items are also required: tinned meat & fish, tinned potatoes, tinned tomatoes, cup soups, Pot Noodles, Super Noodles, instant pasta, pasta sauce, tinned or instant custard & puddings, tinned fruits, biscuits & small treats, and instant coffee.
“Demand for the foodbank has increased 60% from last year, which brings home how many local families are struggling to put food on the table,” said CEO of Chester FC Community Trust, Jim Green.
“We are a football club that cares about its community and this is an opportunity for us to extend our support to West Cheshire Foodbank, who are working tirelessly to help ensure nobody goes hungry this Christmas.”
