Over the summer, Chester FC Community Trust has provided more than 200 free healthy meals to children, alongside fun activities, including sports, gaming, drama, nutritional workshops and art and crafts.

Funded through the Department for Education’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, and delivered in partnership with Edsential, the HAF scheme was based at at King George V Community Sports Hub in Blacon and ran for two weeks across the summer break.

The scheme aims to support children in receipt of free school meals during holiday periods, which can be a challenging time for some families. The free clubs ensure children have a positive and healthy holiday experience, with each day packed with enriching activities and opportunities. This year the Community Trust worked with a number of partners to provide an exciting programme, including The Mini Makery, Adaptive Gaming and Altru Drama CIC.
