The Premier League Writing Stars poetry competition is back!

February 5, 2020 Jim Green

The Premier League is once again using the appeal of football to inspire primary school children across England and Wales to pen a poem, this time on the theme of ambition.

This year the Premier League want pupils to write poems based on the theme of ambition, using inspiration from the poem Beautiful Ambition by Karl Nova. The poem and subject encourage pupils to think about their ambitious through potery.

Chester FC Community Trust is able to support schools with entering this year’s competition and can deliver free workshops to help pupils with their entries.

There are lots of prizes to be won including the opportunity for the Premier League Trophy to visit your school, as well as an exclusive poetry workshop delivered by a leading children’s author or poet. The winning poems will be featured in an illustrated book of Premier League Writing Stars poems.
