Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

May 17, 2023 Jim Green

Chester FC Community Trust is proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week and encourages everyone to think about mental health and tackle stigma.

This year’s focus is anxiety, a normal emotion for us all, but one that can sometimes get out of control and become a mental health problem.

Focusing on anxiety for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week will increase people’s awareness and understanding of anxiety by providing information on the things that can help prevent it from becoming a problem. You can read more about this and access helpful resources at mentalhealth.org.uk/mhaw.

The Community Trust delivers two weekly mental health football sessions, supporting participants to improve their meantal health and wellbeing through sport. These sessions also help to reduce social isolation and offer participants opportunities to make friends and keep fit in a welcoming environment and talk about their problems without stigma, seek advice and access additional support. You can email community@chesterfc.com to find out more about this project.
