Chester FC Community Trust and Chester School Sport Partnership are teaming up again to support local schools to take part in this year’s Biggest Ever Football Session!
A record-breaking 475,000 girls from 5,000 schools across the country joined last year’s Biggest Ever Football Session. The flagship day is central to The FA’s equal access in school ambition.
The Community Trust and SSP have been encouraging schools in Chester to sign up for this year’s event, which will take place on Friday 7th March – the day before International Women’s Day.
Year 3 & 4 girls from local primary schools have been invited to a football festival at the Deva Stadium featuring fun coaching activities and small sided games, while Community Trust coaches will also be visiting Huntington Primary School and St Mary’s of the Angels Primary School to lead coaching sessions.
Chester FC Community Trust engages with 200 players each week through its women’s and girls’ programmes, which include Weetabix Wildcats, Girls’ Player Development Centre, FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre and Chester FC Women’s teams. The charity also works with schools in Cheshire West and Chester to grow and develop girls’ football through coaching sessions, extra-curricular clubs and inter-school events.
Chester School Sport Partnership supports schools to deliver high quality PE and school sport, working with with primary and secondary schools to enhance the quality of sporting opportunities through the curriculum, intra and inter-school competition and developing the young volunteers of the future.
