Vacancy: Community Development Worker

January 11, 2023 Jim Green

Chester FC Community Trust is seeking to appoint a full-time Community Development Worker to further our work supporting communities across Chester and Cheshire West.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, engaging and community-focused individual to join our team and be based at our charity’s home, the £1.8 million King George V Sports Hub in Blacon, which opened last summer.

As one of our two Community Development Workers, you will help us ensure this facility benefits local residents and creates lasting change in Our Community.

Your role will be to design and deliver a programme of outcome-based projects within our themes of sport, education, health and inclusion that respond to local needs and improve community cohesion, pride and resilience. You will develop strong, effective partnerships, encourage participation and identify opportunities to make projects sustainable.

The post is funded through the Westminster Foundation and is full-time on a fixed term basis to 2025, however we would consider part-time hours for the right candidate. Due to the nature of the role, some evening and weekend work will be necessary.

Applicants will ideally have previous experience of sport or community development, managing and developing projects and partnership working. Appointment will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and a full UK driving licence would be an advantage.

In return we offer a competitive salary, Chester FC uniform, support with CPD and training, company pension scheme and a great opportunity to take on a key role within a successful club community organisation.
