Seals in Spain: Catalonian adventure for Football Education students

April 3, 2025 Jim Green

Chester FC Football Education students have completed an unforgettable 11-day experience in Spain, fully funded by our education partner Access Sport College and The Turing Scheme.

The career-focused tour saw 22 students from our elite football scholarship and coaching pathways travel to the town of Cambrils in Catalonia, where they had the opportunity to take part in sports, fitness and cultural activities designed to inspire the students, develop their skills, and enhance their future career prospects.

Among the highlights of the tour was a trip to Barcelona, where our students visited the legendary Nou Camp to tour the Barca museum, explored the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, and had time to take in the sights of one of the world’s great cities.

The group also attended the Primera Federación between Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Ponferradina at the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada, with the home side running out 5-1 winners, before having free time in the historic city of Tarragona.

There was plenty of sporting action throughout the tour, including playing football and volleyball on the beach, a competitive futsal tournament, hitting the driving range for golf lessons with a PGA pro, enjoying an introduction to padel, and stepping into the cage for MMA training.

The students had the chance to practice their language skills with Spanish lessons, and there was plenty of time to create memories too, with free time for socialising, quizzes, bingo and karaoke.

Our thanks to Access Sport College, Mediterranean Education 2 and the Turing Scheme for provding an incredible experience for our students.
