Girls from 12 Chester primary schools joined the Biggest Ever Football Session by enjoying a fun-filled day at Deva Stadium!

Chester FC Community Trust teamed up with Chester School Sport Partnership to host an inspiring festival of football for Year 3 & 4 girls as part of the annual event, which is central to The FA’s ambition to give girls’ equal access to football in school.

During the day, the girls had the opportunity to develop their football skills through coaching activities and small-sided games, and were also given a behind the scenes stadium tour, including a visit to the team changing rooms.

With the sun shining, it was brilliant to see so many girls having fun playing football at the Deva, with the event being supported by Cheshire FA and the Community Trust’s Football Education students.

Community Trust coaches have also been visiting Huntington Primary School and St Mary’s of the Angels Primary School to promote girls’ football as part of this year’s Biggest Ever Football Session.

Chester FC Community Trust engages with 200 players each week through its women’s and girls’ programmes, which include Weetabix Wildcats, Girls’ Player Development Centre, FA Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre and Chester FC Women’s teams. The charity also works with schools in Cheshire West and Chester to grow and develop girls’ football through coaching sessions, extra-curricular clubs and inter-school events.

Chester School Sport Partnership supports schools to deliver high quality PE and school sport, working with with primary and secondary schools to enhance the quality of sporting opportunities through the curriculum, intra and inter-school competition and developing the young volunteers of the future.
