Chester FC Girls PDC update

August 14, 2020 Jim Green

Chester FC Community Trust can provide an update on the Girls Player Development Centre (PDC) programme for the 2020/21 season.

The programme venue Blacon High School has advised that, following advice, it will not be a position to hire out the 3G pitch until October half-term at the earliest. The school will review the situation in October and provide a further update.

Please note the Girls PDC will not be able to commence until the venue has reopened.

The Covid-19 pandemic is a challenging situation for sports facilities and the health and safety of participants must be the key consideration.

We look forward to resuming sessions as soon as it is safe to do so and will continue to provide regular updates.

Although dates cannot be confirmed at present, we are inviting expressions of interest for players in U8s, U10s, U12s, U14s & U16s age groups.

Please complete an expression of interest form here or email community@chesterfc.com for more information.

The PDC aims to support the development of female players aged 6-16 and offers an advanced training programme with professional coaches in a positive environent.

Players selected for the PDC continue to train and play for the grassroots club while taking part in a coaching programme based on The FA four corner player development model.

Designed to bridge the gap between grassroots football and elite football, the PDC provides a pathway to the Chester FC Women teams or FA Regional Talent Club (RTC) programme for players of exceptional ability.

In recent seasons, more than 20 players have progressed into the Under-18s and first team squads while no fewer than 26 players have signed with an RTC.
