Chester FC Community Trust hosted its first inter-school competition of 2024/25 as 17 schools contested the National League Trust Under 11s Schools Cup for mixed teams.
Each season, clubs across the National League’s three divisions host tournaments with the winning schools going on to represent their respective clubs in regional and national finals.
Despite heavy rain throughout, all teams contributed to a brilliant morning of competitive football with Upton Heath coming out on top, overcoming neighbours Acresfield in the final, while in the Plate competition, The Acorns edged out Hoole in the final.
Upton Heath will now represent Chester FC in the north west finals next year, where they will be joined by the winners of the girls’ tournament, which will take place next week.
Well done to all schools who took part and played with great tenacity and spirit in testing conditions, and our thanks to the Chester FC Football Education students who helped organise the event and acted as referees.
