Vacancy: Girls ETC Strength & Conditioning Coach (Part-time)

Chester FC Community Trust is seeking to recruit a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Chester FC Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre.

The Strength & Conditioning Coach will be responsible for developing and leading the physical and S&C programme for the Girls ETC, working alongside the ETC Manager, Player Development Lead and coaches to to support high performing female players at U10s, U12s and U14s.

This is a casual part-time role for 1-2 hours per week with applicants required to attend the 30-week training programme, which runs from September until June on Monday evenings from 5.30pm to 7pm. There will also be a games programme during school holidays.

The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Sports Science or a Sport Science related discipline and hold UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) or ASCC accreditation. If accreditation has not been obtained, evidence must be provided to demonstrate an ability to working towards obtaining it, including, but not exclusive to, the attendance of workshops. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate experience of delivering individual and group physical preparations, including recovery strategies, and knoweldge of injury minimisation strategies, and have FA first aid and safeguarding certificates.

The hourly rate for this role is £20 per hour. We also offer Chester FC uniform, support with CPD and training, and a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role within a successful club community organisation. Appointment will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and a full UK driving licence would be an advantage.

Strength & Conditioning Coach Responsibilities

• Contribute to the ETC curriculum and ensure the S&C provision complements the football programme.
• Plan and deliver – or oversee the delivery of – the ETC physical development programme.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of work conducted with players and coaches. Keep records which meet the standard required by The FA and the appropriate professional bodies.
• Communicate with parents in the event of S&C related queries. Educate parents with regard to their role in supporting physical development, injury prevention, injury care, recovery, diet and other factors relating to lifestyle away from the ETC.
• Work alongside the ETC staff to ensure players are receiving the best experience possible to support each individual develop appropriately across the FA’s four corners.
• Educate coaches on the S&C provision and embedding physical outcomes within technical sessions.
• Adhere to FA safeguarding and equality policies and procedures, and FA and ETC codes of conduct at all times
