First outing for men’s walking football team

September 26, 2025 Jim Green

Participants from the Community Trust’s men’s walking football group played their first friendly game together this week.

Our weekly sessions have been growing steadily over the past 12 months and some of our over 60s players took up the invitation of a fixture against Mold WFC at King George V Community Sports Hub.

It was great to see them taking to the pitch together, rolling back the years and enjoying the match. Well done!

Walking football is a fun, social version of the game, played at a slower pace with no running and minimal contact, making it ideal for older players, as well as those who want to return to the game or looking to play for the first time.

Our women’s sessions currently take place on Thursdays at King George V Community Sports Hub and new players aged 50 or aboave are always welcome.
