Chester FC Kit Bank Launches to Support Local Young Players

August 8, 2025 Jim Green

Chester FC Community Trust is proud to announce the Chester FC Kit Bank, a new community initiative aimed at ensuring every child has the opportunity to play football with the right gear.

The Kit Bank will officially launch on Saturday 9th August, with the first collection event taking place between 1pm and 3pm ahead of Chester FC’s home fixture against Peterborough Sports FC. Supporters and local residents are invited to donate good-quality football kit at the gazebo in the Fan Canopy at the Deva Stadium.

The scheme is designed to support boys and girls aged 5 to 11 by redistributing clean, pre-loved kit to families who need it. Items accepted include football boots, trainers, boot bags, shin pads, shorts, tracksuits, and hoodies or sports jackets.

Donations must be in good condition and ready to wear. For hygiene and safety reasons, the Kit Bank cannot accept damaged or dirty items, underwear or personal hygiene products, used water bottles, or kit with offensive logos or text.

By collecting and reusing kit, the project aims to make football more accessible, reduce waste, and strengthen the sense of community that Chester FC is built on. Families will be able to self-refer to access items, ensuring help is available without a formal referral process.
